System Engineer (NAMDC)

Job Summary:
This position is
located at the Navy Air and Missile Defense Command (NAMDC) in
Dahlgren, VA. Candidate will be responsible for providing technical,
analytic and operational application subject matter expertise for the
Link Network Monitoring Tool in support of SPAWAR Systems Center
Pacific.
Essential
Functions:

Data Link subject matter expertise, as required, to Naval Component
Commanders (NCC) and Joint Force Maritime Component Commanders

Demonstrate
subject matter expertise in Afloat Integrated Shipboard Network
System and Automated Digital Network System as they apply to IAMD
tactical and strategic architectures. Experience in computer system
networking and interfacing protocols used in commercial and/or
military communications systems.
Demonstrate
subject matter expertise in ship and shore Command and Control
systems, specifically in Next Generation Command and Control
Processor and Air Defense Systems Integrator. Demonstrate ability to
assess Aegis Combat System suites, CDLMS, and Link-16 Gateway and
host simulators, Satellite TADIL-J, Multicast TADIL J tactical data
systems and associated interface cabling and computer control
equipment.
Familiarity with
shipboard Combat Systems and Interoperability testing/assessment of
AEGIS Combat System suites, CDLMS, and Link-16 Gateway and host
simulators, as well as, Satellite TADIL-J, Multicast TADIL J
tactical data systems and associated interfaces and computer control
equipment desired.
Experience working
with commercial and/or military communications systems (UHF &
DAMA, SHF, EHF), C5I Joint Targeting Terminal and GCCS-M desired.

Requirements:
Knowledge,
Skills, Background and Experience:
Knowledge and
experience in Air and Missile Defense doctrine, planning and
operations is desirable. Candidate should have an understanding in
Surface Force Operations, Air Defense principles including ship
self-defense and BMC4I systems architectures. The candidate must be
a self starter who can represent the customer in a variety of Navy
and Joint Forums. Travel to support meetings and participation in
exercises and other Fleet support requirements will be required.
Ability to work from high level guidance and produce timely and
effective results expected. Demonstrate subject matter expertise in
U.S. Navy TDL systems applicable to Navy shipboard Combat Systems,
Tactical Data Links, Computer Networks, and associated satellite
communications equipment.
Demonstrate

PMW 760 Aegis BMD Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
TEA supports the PEO C4I / PMW 760 Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) integration program in the system engineering, planning and execution of Aegis BMD shipboard requirements.
TEA provides system engineering expertise and subject matter experts in support of PMW 760 Principal Integration Program Manager to division in order to maintain system readiness of the Aegis Weapon System used to support major Aegis BMD C4I acquisition strategies/fielding plans and Configuration Management. This position requires the employee to have knowledge of the Aegis Combat System, interface with internal PEO C4I product and integration codes, SPAWAR System Center codes and outside Aegis entities and provide input to future system engineering efforts in order to support BMD.
Essential
Functions:
Assist the Principal Integration Platform Manager (PIPM) and Systems Engineering (SE) lead for C4I Programs (Elements) alignment to Aegis BMD Baselines.
Monitor and perform technical analysis in response to fleet C4I concerns and issues.
Coordinate with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and PMW 790 for the development of BMDS Ship-to-Shore-to Ship architecture.
Liaison with the appropriate Fleet representatives from the various COCOMs, numbered Fleet Commanders, Strike Group Commanders, Force and Unit level Commanders, including Communications Offices, staff BMD Officers, Combat System Officers, JICOs, Fleet C4I System Engineers, Training Officers, and other key planners, to evaluate C4I system casualties and impact to BMD Mission readiness and provide recommendations for appropriate course of actions.
Determine if on-site tech assist is required, liaison with the appropriate C4I Program Office, In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), Fleet Support Office and dispatch the appropriate C4I Subject Matter Experts to execute corrective action as necessary.
Liaison across the PEO C4I and COMPSAWARSYCOM Enterprise technical groups, engineering codes, and laboratories.
Maintain an up-to-date configuration file of all the appropriate C4I components and settings required to maintain EHF Multicast TADIL capability fully BMD Mission ready on all In-Service Aegis BMD Baselines. Post file for access by all the appropriate PMW, C4I Fleet engineers and other C4I Subject Matter experts as required.
When directed by the Program Manager, stand up PEO C4I Integrated Product Team to research, analyze and develop corrective courses of action.
Provide replacement C4I documentation as requested.
Participate in Fleet-level and Engineering forums as determined by the Program Manager. These will include but are not limited to annual N6 Conferences, Theater JICO conferences, IAMD/BMD C4I Training conferences, Combat System Weapons Systems Performance Reviews, Combat System Technical Reviews, IPTs, etc.
Review C4I Training and course material generated by the C4I Program Offices for accuracy relative to the BMC4I Configurations on the affected In-Service baseline. If necessary develop corrections and or additions for incorporation into the document.
Support the appropriate Configuration Management forums as directed by the PM (BERT, CCB, LCCB, etc.)
Review applicable proposed C4I changes (i.e, SCD, EDPs, ORDALTS, etc) and notify the Program Manager of changes that may have an adverse impact on BMD Mission readiness and In-Service Aegis BMD Baselines.
As directed by the Program Manager, participate in Integrated Systems Operations Verification Test (SOVT).
As directed by the Program Manager, provide technical assistance at C4I land-based test sites and research lab during trouble shooting, validation and verification process of C4I products that enable BMD Mission capabilities.

provides program management support to the Program Executive Office
(PEO) Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I)
Program Manager, Warfare 760 (PMW 760). TEA provides system
engineering expertise and subject matter experts in support of PMW
760 to plan, manage, and execute program resources to support the
design, acquisition, integration, configuration management and
sustainment of certified C4I capabilities onboard Navy and Aegis
Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) platforms.
This
